Izzy’s Quest Game

Izzy’s Quest is one of those forgotten Genesis platformers that somehow nails that weird, early '90s charm—bright colors, chunky sprites, and a soundtrack that sticks in your head way longer than it should. You play as Izzy, this little dude with a sword (or maybe it’s a stick? Hard to tell) jumping through jungles, caves, and who-knows-what else while swiping at enemies that pop out of nowhere.
The first level throws you right into it—no tutorial, just a quick life bar and some floating platforms. Took me a few tries to figure out the timing on those jumps, and the hit detection can be a little… generous. But once you get the rhythm, it’s got that satisfying "one more try" pull. The music’s surprisingly good for a game this obscure, all bouncy synths and weird percussion.
It’s not the deepest platformer out there, but there’s something oddly fun about its janky simplicity. Just don’t expect a masterpiece—this is pure, unfiltered Sega cheese.
