About Home Alone (beta)
Home Alone (Beta) was an unreleased Sega Genesis game, developed and published by Sega. It was one of many licensed titles from that period, attempting to capture the spirit of a popular film on the 16-bit console.
You control Kevin McCallister, running through a side-scrolling version of his house and neighborhood. The main goal is to survive until your family returns, which means avoiding the Wet Bandits and setting traps for them. You explore the environment screen by screen, collecting items like marbles and micro machines to place as hazards. The pacing is frantic, as you are constantly pursued, and the difficulty comes from managing your limited resources while being chased. It feels like a chaotic scramble to turn your home into a fortress before you are caught.
