Final Fantasy VI Advance is the GBA port of what many fans still call the best Final Fantasy—and honestly, I get it. You start off with these two armored soldiers stomping through snow in magitek armor, and within an hour, you’ve got a ragtag crew that includes a runaway gambler, a ninja, and a kid who suplexes trains. Yeah, trains.
Kefka’s still one of the most unhinged villains in RPG history—he’s not some brooding tragic figure, just a grinning lunatic who burns the world because he can. The Esper system lets you customize magic for anyone, so your party actually feels unique instead of just sticking to fixed classes. Also, the opera scene? Still hits.
GBA version adds some extra dungeons and a smoother translation, though the music’s a bit tinny compared to the SNES original. Either way, it’s a classic for a reason.
