Final Fantasy VI Advance is one of those games that just sticks with you. You start off with Terra, this mysterious girl with amnesia, and before long you're thrown into a rebellion against an empire that’s digging up ancient magic for all the wrong reasons. The cast is wild—ninjas, gamblers, kings, even a yeti—and somehow they all fit together perfectly.
Kefka’s still one of the best villains ever, just pure chaotic evil with a laugh that’ll haunt you. The GBA version keeps everything great about the original (that opera scene!) and adds some extra dungeons and tweaks. If you’ve never played it, this is the JRPG that made a lot of us fall in love with the genre.
