Fighter’s Destiny on N64 is one of those weird, underrated fighting games that tried something different. Instead of just knocking your opponent’s health bar to zero, you win by scoring points—landing clean hits, throws, or even ring-outs. At first, it feels a little off if you’re used to Street Fighter or Tekken, but once you get the rhythm, it’s surprisingly tactical.
The roster’s a mixed bag—some characters feel overpowered (looking at you, Jean-Pierre), while others take real finesse to make work. The controls are simple enough to pick up, but there’s depth if you dig into the timing and spacing. Graphically, it’s pure late-’90s N64 jank, but the fighting itself holds up better than you’d expect.
If you’re tired of the same old arcade fighters, this one’s worth a few rounds just for the novelty alone.
