About Dual Heroes (e)
I first played Dual Heroes on the Nintendo 64 back in 1997, a release from Hudson Soft. It was part of that early wave of 3D fighting games on the system, arriving before the genre became more crowded. The game had a specific feel, different from the arcade ports I was used to.
You control one of several martial artists, moving through a series of one-on-one battles. The main goal is to defeat your opponent in a 3D arena, depleting their health bar. A key mechanic is the ability to perform special attacks, like energy projectiles, which you execute with specific button combinations. The arenas are enclosed, and you can sometimes knock your opponent into the walls. The pacing is deliberate, not overly fast, and the difficulty can be sharp, especially against the computer. It feels like a straightforward test of your timing and ability to read an opponent's moves.
