Dual Heroes is one of those N64 fighters that flew under the radar but actually has some cool ideas. You pick from a roster of martial artists, cyborgs, and weirdos with over-the-top special moves—some characters feel straight out of an anime, others like they wandered in from a sci-fi brawler.
The controls take a minute to click—you’ve got this charge-up system where holding buttons modifies your attacks—but once it does, fights get surprisingly tactical. Not just button mashing, though you can try. The stages have these interactive elements too, like pillars you can knock opponents into for extra damage.
It’s janky in that early N64 way, but there’s charm in the chaos. I kept coming back to the cyborg guy with the extendable arms—his reach is ridiculous, but good luck landing a hit if someone gets inside it.
