Doug's Big Game Game

Man, Doug's Big Game on Game Boy Color is pure 90s Nickelodeon nostalgia. You start off just wandering around Bluffington, talking to Porkchop and Skeeter, and suddenly you're sucked into these weird little minigames—like helping Doug dodge Patty’s flying notes in music class or collecting doodads for Mr. Dink’s latest "very expensive" purchase. The pixel art somehow nails Doug’s awkward walk and those weirdly shaped heads everyone had in the show.
It’s not exactly deep gameplay, but there’s something charming about how it feels like playing through random episodes. The humor’s all there too, like Quailman’s over-the-top heroics or Roger being, well, Roger. If you grew up with the cartoon, it’s a weirdly specific time capsule—just don’t expect it to hold up like a proper platformer or anything. Mostly, it’s fun for the vibes.
Honestly, half the appeal is hearing the tinny GBC version of the theme song on loop until it’s stuck in your head for days.
