Deadly Moves came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, published by Toei Animation. It was part of that wave of side scrolling fighters that tried to capture the feel of arcade brawlers at home. You got a few characters to pick from, each with their own basic look and a special move or two, which was pretty standard for the time.

You control a martial artist, moving from left to right through levels filled with enemy fighters. The main goal is simply to beat up everyone in your path and survive until the stage boss. Your character can punch, kick, and perform a limited special attack that uses up a bit of health. The game uses a screen by screen progression; you clear all the enemies on one screen before the game lets you advance to the next. It is known for being quite difficult, with aggressive enemies and limited continues. Playing it feels like a relentless, straightforward brawl where every mistake costs you.
