Chopper Attack is one of those N64 games that somehow nails the helicopter combat vibe without overcomplicating things. You jump straight into the cockpit, and within minutes you're weaving through canyons, dodging missiles, and blasting enemy choppers out of the sky. The controls feel surprisingly tight for an N64 flight game—none of that awkward tank-steering nonsense some early 3D games had.
The missions mix things up between all-out dogfights and more tactical stuff like escorting convoys or bombing enemy bases. I remember the first time I tried the snow level—visibility was awful, but hearing enemy rotors echo through the mountains before they popped up on radar? That was cool. The weapons feel satisfying too, especially when you unlock the homing missiles later on.
It's not the prettiest N64 game out there, but the explosions and terrain details hold up better than you'd expect. If you ever wanted a no-nonsense arcade-style helicopter shooter for the system, this one's a solid pick.
