BreakThru! came out for the Game Boy in 1994 from Data East. It was part of that wave of portable action games where you had a simple premise and a lot of levels to get through. The screen was small, the music was bouncy, and it fit right in with what you'd carry around in your pocket back then.

You control a little tank, moving it screen by screen through a series of maze-like layouts. Your main goal is to find and destroy a hidden core in each stage. To do this, you shoot blocks to clear a path, avoid enemy fire, and sometimes use a limited supply of bombs for tougher obstacles. The game is methodical; you have to plan your route carefully because one wrong move can leave you trapped or overwhelmed. It feels tense and deliberate, like a careful puzzle where every shot matters.
