Bomberman 64 came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1997, developed by Hudson Soft. You control the round, helmeted Bomberman, navigating him through large, multi-level stages. Your main goal is to defeat the five elemental guardians and stop the evil Altair. A key mechanic is using bombs to collect gold cards, which are often tucked away in hard-to-reach spots or require clever chain reactions to obtain. The game also introduced a bomb kick and a throw, giving you more control over your explosions. The pacing is deliberate; you spend a lot of time figuring out the environmental puzzles, and some jumps can be tricky with the 3D movement.
