Bomberman 64 was one of those games that tricked you into thinking it was just about blowing stuff up—until you hit the first puzzle and realized you actually had to use your brain. The 3D levels add this weirdly satisfying layer of strategy, where you’re not just tossing bombs at enemies but also figuring out how to knock down walls, trigger switches, and sometimes even bounce explosions off slopes. The controls take a minute to get used to (classic N64 jank), but once it clicks, it’s weirdly addictive.
And yeah, the multiplayer is still chaotic in the best way—four players, tiny screen, and way too many bombs. You’ll either love or hate the fact that some stages force you to actually cooperate before you can go back to betraying each other. It’s got that old-school charm where half the fun is watching everything go horribly wrong.
