About Bomberman 64 - The Second Attack!
Bomberman 64: The Second Attack! came out for the Nintendo 64 in 2000, developed by Hudson Soft. It was part of that later wave of N64 games, arriving when the console's library was pretty well established. This was the second 3D Bomberman on the system, and it felt like they were building on what the first one started.
You control Bomberman, moving him through a series of themed worlds. Your main goal is to stop the evil Badasler sisters, which involves navigating levels, solving puzzles, and of course, blowing up blocks and enemies. A couple of its key mechanics are the ability to combine bombs to create more powerful explosions and the addition of a little sidekick named Pommy. You can feed Pommy items to make him evolve, which gives you different special abilities. The pacing is deliberate; you often need to figure out how to reach a level's exit, which can involve some trial and error. It feels like a mix of action and light puzzle solving, where a well-placed bomb can open up a whole new path.
