Bio F.R.E.A.K.S. on the N64 is one of those weird, over-the-top fighters that feels like someone threw Mortal Kombat, cyberpunk, and a sci-fi B-movie into a blender. You pick from these genetically modified freaks—half-human, half-machine abominations—and just go wild in these floating arenas where falling off is as much a threat as your opponent.
First thing you’ll notice? The controls are a little janky, but once you get used to it, there’s something satisfying about blasting someone with a shotgun mid-air or slicing them up with retractable arm blades. The stages are chaotic too—some have hazards that’ll knock you into oblivion if you’re not careful. It’s not the most polished fighter out there, but if you’re into ’90s edgy aesthetics and ridiculous violence, it’s a weirdly fun time.
Just don’t expect deep mechanics—this is more about spectacle than balance.
