Azarashi Sentai Inazuma is one of those weird, charming little Game Boy Color games that never left Japan. You play as a squad of superpowered seals (yes, seals) who fight evil in a side-scrolling action-platformer. It’s got that classic 90s anime vibe—bright colors, goofy enemies, and a soundtrack that’s way catchier than it has any right to be.
The controls are simple—jump, dash, and unleash your team’s special attacks—but the real fun is swapping between the three seals mid-level. Each one has a different ability, like bouncing off walls or shooting projectiles, and figuring out when to switch keeps things from getting stale. The first boss fight against a giant robot crab is pure nonsense in the best way possible.
It’s short, it’s silly, and unless you speak Japanese, you’ll have no idea what’s happening in the story. But if you’re into obscure retro games with personality, this one’s a hidden gem.
