Airboarder 64 is basically what you’d get if Tony Hawk and F-Zero had a weird, slightly janky baby. You’re racing on hoverboards (because why not) through these neon-drenched tracks that feel like someone’s vaporwave dream. At first, it’s all about speed—until you realize pulling off mid-air flips and spins actually boosts your momentum. Took me a few crashes to figure that out.
The trick system’s surprisingly deep—you can chain moves together, but the timing’s tight, so it actually feels rewarding when you nail a combo. And yeah, the multiplayer’s chaotic in the best way. Nothing like shoulder-checking your friend off a halfpipe while they’re mid-backflip. Just don’t expect it to be polished like Wave Race—it’s got that early N64 roughness, but that’s part of the charm.
If you’re into obscure racing games with a side of ridiculousness, this one’s a blast.
