64 Oozumou is one of those weirdly specific N64 gems—a full-on sumo wrestling sim that actually nails the feel of the sport. You pick your wrestler (or tweak one in the surprisingly deep customization), step onto the dohyō, and immediately realize this isn’t just a button-masher. Timing and positioning matter way more than you’d think—lean too far forward, and you’ll eat dirt.
The physics are janky in that classic N64 way, but it works. Matches can be over in seconds or turn into tense shoving matches where you’re sweating just to stay inside the ring. There’s a real learning curve to the shoves and dodges, and the AI isn’t afraid to wreck you if you charge in blindly.
Tournaments feel legit, complete with pre-match rituals and crowd reactions that actually change based on how you fight. It’s not flashy, but if you’ve ever wanted to experience sumo without flying to Japan, this is as close as the N64 gets. Just don’t expect your friends to understand why you’re obsessed with it.
