Zool is this weird, hyperactive platformer from the '90s where you play as a ninja from another dimension—or something like that. The whole vibe is neon chaos, like someone dumped a bag of Skittles into a Sega Genesis and cranked the speed to max. You’ll be wall-jumping, slicing up robot enemies, and collecting these little candy things (no idea why, but they’re everywhere).
The controls take a second to get used to—Zool slides around like he’s on ice at first, but once it clicks, the movement feels kinda slick. Some of the later levels get brutal with the enemy spam, though. Also, the soundtrack? Absolute banger. Synth-heavy and way catchier than it has any right to be.
It’s not the deepest game, but if you’re into that era of “style over sense” platformers, Zool’s a fun little time capsule.
