Undead Line (english Translation) Game

Undead Line is one of those weird, forgotten Genesis gems that somehow blends run-and-gun chaos with RPG elements—like if Contra and Diablo had a pixelated zombie baby. You start off in this grimy post-apocalyptic city picking between four characters (I always go with the cyborg guy because his arm cannon feels unfair in the best way).
The first thing you’ll notice? The screen gets packed with enemies. Zombies shamble in from all sides, mutants leap at you, and those floating eyeball things? Yeah, they’re worse than they look. The controls take a second to click—you’ve got this awkward diagonal shooting at first—but once it does, blasting through corridors while snagging power-ups feels surprisingly slick for a 90s title.
What’s cool is how the game mixes arcade action with light loot mechanics. You’ll find weapons, armor, even magic spells tucked in corners or dropped by bosses. The translation patch makes it way easier to actually understand what you’re picking up, though half the fun is equipping some bizarre item just to see what it does. That final boss still gives me nightmares, by the way.
If you’re into retro games with janky charm and a surprising amount of depth, this one’s worth dusting off.
