Turn and Burn is one of those Game Boy games that makes you forget how tiny the screen is—once you're weaving between enemy fire and lining up shots, it feels huge. You start off with this little jet that handles like a dream, pulling tight turns and dodging missiles like it's second nature. The first few waves ease you in, but before long, you're juggling three different enemy types while trying not to crash into the ground.
What I love is how it nails that arcade dogfighting feel without being punishing. The controls are simple—just enough buttons to feel tactical but not overwhelming. And the pixel art? Surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy title, with these little explosions and smoke trails that make every hit satisfying. It's the kind of game you pick up for a quick session and suddenly realize you've been grinding for high scores for an hour.
If you're into retro shooters, this one's a hidden gem. Just don't blame me when you start humming the soundtrack under your breath.
