The Wild Game

Man, The Wild on GBA takes me back. You start off in this dense forest with nothing but a rusty dagger, and within minutes, you're already getting jumped by these weird little goblin things. The pixel art still holds up—those sunset colors over the treetops? Gorgeous.
It’s one of those games where you just feel the exploration. No hand-holding, no quest markers—just you, a sketchy map, and whatever trouble you stumble into. I remember wasting way too much time trying to climb this "unclimbable" mountain early on (spoiler: you need better gear first).
Combat’s simple but satisfying—dodging feels tight, and there’s something weirdly addictive about the way enemies explode into little pixel chunks. Found this hidden cave behind a waterfall once and nearly screamed when a giant spider dropped on me. Classic GBA jank in the best way.
If you’ve got a soft spot for that era of adventure games, this one’s a time capsule worth cracking open.
