Okay, so The Second Reality Project 2 Demo is basically a love letter to SNES-era platformers—but with way more polish than you'd expect from a demo. You jump right into six completely different worlds, each with its own weird little vibe. One minute you're hopping across floating islands in some pastel dreamscape, the next you're dodging lava pits in a pixel-perfect hellscape.
The controls feel tight—like, actually tight, not just "good for a fan project" tight. And the enemies? Half of them are straight-up nods to classic SNES baddies, but they’ve got some new tricks. (Watch out for the ones that fake their death animations. Learned that the hard way.)
It’s short, obviously—it’s a demo—but there’s enough hidden stuff that I replayed it twice just to see what I missed the first time. If you’ve got even a little nostalgia for 16-bit platformers, this one’s worth the ten minutes it’ll take to blast through.
