If you've ever wanted a solid King of Fighters experience on the go, NeoBlood on GBA actually pulls it off surprisingly well. The sprites are chunky but full of personality, and the controls somehow cram all the essential moves into that tiny D-pad—I still don't know how they got Terry's Power Wave to feel this smooth.
You start off picking your usual three-character team (I always default to Kyo, Iori, and Mai because I'm basic), and within seconds you're juggling opponents with chain combos. The AI doesn't mess around either—even on normal difficulty, you'll eat a super move to the face if you get careless. The team mechanics are simplified from the arcade versions, but it still nails that frantic back-and-forth energy when you're down to your last fighter.
It's not perfect—some stages feel a little empty, and the music gets repetitive—but for a GBA fighter, it holds up way better than it has any right to. Just don't expect to beat Rugal on your first try.
