Man, The Ignition Factor on SNES is one of those games that makes you sweat just holding the controller. You’re a firefighter, yeah, but not in some cheesy arcade way—this thing throws you into burning buildings where ceilings collapse, gas lines explode, and people actually scream for help. The first time I played, I panicked and just ran around spraying water at nothing while some poor guy burned in the background. Not my finest moment.
What’s cool is how it mixes strategy with chaos. You’ve got limited oxygen, so you can’t just charge in blindly. Sometimes you’ll bust through a wall with an axe to shortcut a rescue, other times you’re dodging falling debris while dragging survivors out. And the fires spread realistically—if you ignore a small flame, good luck when the whole room’s an inferno two minutes later.
It’s janky in that classic SNES way (good luck with the ladder controls), but that almost adds to the tension. You’ll replay levels just to shave seconds off your time or finally save that one civilian you kept missing. Definitely not your typical action game—more like a puzzle where everything’s on fire and the pieces are screaming.
