Okay, so this is one of those weird NES deep cuts—Takahashi Meijin No Bugutte Honey. If you've played Adventure Island, you'll recognize the main guy, but this one's based on some obscure anime spin-off. It's a side-scroller, but with a weird mix of platforming and adventure stuff. You're running, jumping, and smacking enemies with a club (because why not?), but there's also some light puzzle-solving and item collecting.
First thing you'll notice? The controls are a little stiff, like most early NES games. Takes a second to get used to the momentum, but once you do, it's got that classic, slightly janky charm. The levels are short but packed with hidden stuff—some power-ups feel borderline useless, but others actually make a difference. And yeah, the music’s exactly what you’d expect: peppy, repetitive, and weirdly catchy.
Not gonna lie, it’s not as polished as the mainline Adventure Island games, but if you’re into retro oddities, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
