Super Metroid - So Little Time is one of those SNES games that just sticks with you. You start off as Samus, landing on this eerie planet with nothing but your blaster and a creeping sense that something’s wrong. The atmosphere hits you first—dim corridors, weird alien noises, and that soundtrack that somehow makes every step feel heavy. Then the exploration kicks in, and suddenly you’re backtracking through half the map because you just found a new ability that lets you reach that one suspicious-looking ledge.
The bosses are brutal in the best way—you’ll die a few times figuring out their patterns, but when you finally take them down, it’s pure satisfaction. And the secrets? There’s always something hidden where you least expect it, like a missile upgrade tucked behind a fake wall or a whole new path that opens up after a well-placed bomb. It’s the kind of game where you’ll pause just to admire how tight the level design is.
If you’ve played other Metroid games, this one feels like coming home—just with more tension and way better pixel art. Even if you’re new to the series, it’s a perfect place to start. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time trying to 100% it.
