Super Indy Champ on SNES is one of those racing games that nails the "easy to pick up, tough to master" vibe. You start with a choice of cars—some handle better on turns, others just scream down the straights—and then it's straight into the chaos. The tracks feel fast even at the beginning, with tight corners that punish you for braking too late (or not at all).
What I love is how the AI actually fights back—no rubber-banding here. If you mess up a lap, good luck catching up unless you really push it. The graphics are pure 16-bit charm, with little details like tire smoke and grandstands packed with pixelated fans. And that soundtrack? Pure racing adrenaline, all synth and engine noise.
It’s not the deepest racer out there, but it’s got that addictive "one more race" pull. You’ll start memorizing every curve by the third championship.
