Super Contra (or Super C, depending on where you played it) is basically the NES sequel to Contra, but with a few twists. It runs on the same engine as the first game, so you’ll recognize the run-and-gun chaos—except now there are some new levels that never made it into the arcade version. Same frantic shooting, same ridiculous enemy swarms, just a little extra spice.
You start off blasting through jungles and alien-infested bases, dodging bullets like a maniac while trying not to get overwhelmed. The spread gun is still your best friend, but good luck keeping it if you die. Honestly, it’s just as punishing as the original, but in the best way possible.
If you liked Contra, this one’s a no-brainer—just don’t expect it to go easy on you.
