About Striker
Striker came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed by Rage Software. It was part of that wave of early 90s action platformers that filled the library, games you'd rent for a weekend and try to beat in one sitting. It didn't have the marketing push of a Sonic, but it had its own look and feel that made it stand out on the shelf.
You control a knight navigating a series of side scrolling levels, fighting monsters with a sword and a limited supply of crossbow bolts. The main goal is straightforward: get to the end of each stage, defeat the boss, and move on. The game uses a screen by screen progression, so each new screen is a self contained challenge. You also collect keys to unlock doors and search for hidden items to increase your score. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding precise jumps and quick attacks. Playing it feels like a constant, focused scramble from one dangerous room to the next.
