Sted Game

Sted is one of those weird little NES games that slipped under the radar back in the day. You control this armored dude who moves kinda stiffly—like he's wearing a fridge—but once you get used to the weight, it's oddly satisfying to plow through enemies. The levels are these maze-like industrial zones with flickering lights and weird alien-looking things popping out of pipes.
At first I thought it was just another run-and-gun, but there's actually some strategy to it. Your shots ricochet off walls, so you end up angling them like pool shots to hit enemies around corners. And if you hold down the button, your gun charges up for a screen-clearing blast—just don't get caught mid-charge when something lunges at you.
It's got that classic NES jank, but in a way that makes you want to push through. The music's all eerie synths too, which fits the whole "abandoned space facility" vibe. Not a masterpiece, but way more interesting than the generic cover art suggests.
