Spider-Man on SNES is basically a love letter to the 90s cartoon—same art style, same cheesy voice lines, same theme song that gets stuck in your head for days. You swing through New York (or at least a pixelated version of it) punching thugs and dodging those weird green blobs Kingpin’s goons love to throw. The controls take a minute to get used to—wall-crawling feels a little stiff at first, but once you nail the web-swinging, it’s weirdly satisfying for a 16-bit game.
Fights are simple button-mashers, but the bosses? That’s where it shines. Doc Ock’s stage has you dodging mechanical arms while the ceiling literally tries to crush you. And yeah, you fight Venom in a burning building because of course you do. It’s not perfect—some levels drag, and the camera hates you—but for a licensed game from this era? Way better than it had any right to be.
