Shikinjou Game

Shikinjou is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that sticks with you. Right from the start, the pixel art has this eerie charm—like someone took a classic dungeon crawler and gave it a surreal, dreamlike twist. You wake up in this crumbling fortress with no memory, and the first thing you do is pick up a rusty sword. Classic.
The combat’s simple but satisfying—swing, dodge, repeat—but the real hook is the atmosphere. Every room feels like it’s hiding secrets, and half the time you’re not sure if that shadow in the corner is just a glitch or something waiting to jump you. I got stuck on this one puzzle for way too long before realizing the "wall" was actually a hidden path. Sneaky.
It’s not perfect—some of the enemy patterns feel cheap, and the translation’s a bit rough—but there’s something about the mood that just works. If you’re into obscure retro stuff with a dark edge, this one’s worth digging up.
