About Senjou No Ookami Ii ? Mercs
Senjou No Ookami II, known as Mercs in the West, came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991. It was developed and published by Sega. This was during a time when the Genesis was full of fast paced action games, and this one fit right in with its top down run and gun style.
You control a lone soldier fighting through enemy territory. Your main goal is to rescue hostages while surviving waves of soldiers and vehicles. The game progresses screen by screen, locking you in until you clear all enemies. You can pick up different weapons, like a flamethrower or a rocket launcher, to replace your standard machine gun. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is high, demanding quick reflexes to dodge bullets and explosions. It feels like a constant, chaotic scramble for survival.
