Okay, so Raid 2020 is one of those NES games that makes you go, "Wait, what?" You play as some kind of cop or soldier (it's not super clear) trying to wipe out drug dealers in a dystopian 2020. Sounds intense, right? Except the execution is... rough. Like, really rough.
First thing you'll notice? The controls are janky, enemies spawn in weird places, and somehow even seagulls can murder you. Not joking. One minute you're dodging drug dealers, the next you're getting dive-bombed by birds. The whole thing feels like it was programmed in a weekend by someone who'd never played a video game before.
It’s got that "so bad it’s almost fascinating" vibe—like, you keep playing just to see what fresh nonsense the game throws at you next. Definitely not a hidden gem, but if you're into bizarre NES oddities, it's a weird little time capsule of failure. Just don’t expect to make it past the first few screens without laughing (or crying).
