R.B.I. Baseball on NES is one of those old-school sports games that somehow still holds up. The graphics are pure pixel nostalgia—blocky players, a tiny ball, and those classic stadium backdrops. At first, the controls feel a little stiff, but once you get the timing down, hitting a home run is stupidly satisfying. The crack of the bat, the way the ball just flies... yeah, it’s good.
Pitching is simple but sneaky—you can mess with the speed and placement, and if you nail a curveball just right, the batter whiffs hard. Fielding takes some getting used to (good luck chasing down line drives), but that’s part of the charm. And honestly, the AI isn’t too brutal, so you won’t get wrecked immediately.
If you’re into the series, the later RBI games add more teams and polish, but this one’s still the go-to for that raw, arcade-y baseball feel. Just mash Z to swing and pray you don’t pop out.
