R.B.I. Baseball came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, published by Tengen. It was one of the earlier baseball games on the console, arriving before the more simulation focused titles that would follow. You got to play with real Major League Baseball teams and players, which felt like a big deal at the time.

You control all nine players on the field, handling pitching, batting, and fielding. The main goal is simply to outscore your opponent over nine innings. Key mechanics include choosing your pitch type and location before throwing, timing your swing to make solid contact with the ball, and manually moving your fielders to catch pop flies or chase down grounders. The game moves at a quick pace, and fielding can be difficult as players sometimes react slower than you'd like. It feels like a straightforward arcade take on baseball, where a well timed hit is always satisfying.
