QuackShot is one of those Disney games that actually has some meat to it—way more than you'd expect from a 16-bit Donald Duck adventure. Right off the bat, you're not just hopping on enemies like in most platformers. Instead, you’ve got this ridiculous plunger gun that lets you stick foes to walls or even climb by shooting your own makeshift platforms. It sounds silly, but it works surprisingly well.
The game throws in a proper world map too, so you’re not just moving left to right—you’re bouncing between locations like a globetrotting duck detective hunting treasure. And yeah, it gets tough. Some of those bosses feel like they crawled straight out of The Lion King or Aladdin, so expect a few controller-throwing moments. But that mix of platforming and light exploration still holds up.
Honestly, it’s one of the better Disney games from the Genesis era, even if Donald’s voice samples will haunt your dreams.
