Pyramid Magic is one of those Sega Genesis puzzlers that looks simple at first—just a little explorer dude moving blocks around in an Egyptian tomb. But give it five minutes, and suddenly you're sweating over some ridiculous sliding stone puzzle while avoiding spike traps. Classic '90s "easy to pick up, brutal to master" energy.
The pixel art has that warm, chunky Genesis charm—torches flicker, hieroglyphs glow when you solve a room right. And the music? Exactly the kind of synth melody that gets stuck in your head for days. I kept getting distracted trying to match the block colors at first before realizing the real trick was watching the floor patterns.
Fair warning: save states are your friend here. Some later pyramid chambers feel almost cruel with their timing puzzles. But nailing that perfect sequence where everything clicks? Pure magic. Still holds up if you're into retro brain-teasers with a side of nostalgia.
