Psy-O-Blade is one of those weird, forgotten Genesis gems from Japan—part action-platformer, part psychic power trip. You play as this telekinetic warrior slicing through enemies with a glowing energy blade, which sounds cooler than it actually controls (let’s just say the hit detection has opinions). The levels are these surreal, neon-drenched corridors with floating platforms and enemies that look like rejected Akira concept art.
First 10 minutes? You’ll fumble with the awkward double-tap dash, get annoyed by the way your character slides after jumps, and then suddenly everything clicks when you realize you can deflect bullets with your sword. The soundtrack’s all synthy chaos, like someone fed a Sega sound chip too much caffeine. Not the tightest game, but there’s something oddly satisfying about its janky, cyber-psychedelic vibe.
Definitely more of a "vibes over polish" experience—play it for the atmosphere, not the precision.
