Pong: The Next Level on Game Boy Color is one of those weird little upgrades that actually makes a classic feel fresh. Yeah, it's still Pong—you're bouncing a ball back and forth—but the AI opponents actually adapt to how you play. First time I booted it up, I figured it'd just be the same old predictable CPU, but nope. After a few volleys, it starts reading your moves, forcing you to mix up your shots.
There’s a surprising amount of strategy here—drop shots, spin, even power-ups in some modes. Graphics are basic (it’s a GBC game, after all), but the physics feel just right. If you’ve ever wanted Pong with some actual teeth, this is the version to try.
