Pocket Bomberman on GBC is pure old-school chaos in your hands. You start off slow—just a little dude dropping bombs in tight mazes, trying not to blow himself up—but before long, you're juggling firepower upgrades, speed boosts, and enemies coming from every direction. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, and those chunky explosion animations never get old.
What I love is how it forces you to think two steps ahead. Do you take the risk for that extra bomb power-up, or play it safe? Some later levels had me restarting a dozen times, but nailing that perfect chain reaction makes it worth it. It's got that classic Bomberman feel, just shrunk down perfectly for the Game Boy Color.
If you've got a soft spot for retro puzzle-action hybrids, this one's a blast (literally).
