Bomberman Quest is one of those weird little GBC spin-offs where they tried something different—this time, it’s an RPG. You’re still dropping bombs, but now you’re wandering through towns, talking to NPCs, and grinding levels like a classic dungeon crawler. The story’s simple: Bomberman messed up and let a bunch of monsters loose, so now he’s gotta clean up his own mess.
At first, it feels strange seeing Bomberman in turn-based battles, but the bomb mechanics actually work surprisingly well here. You’ve got elemental bombs, armor upgrades, and even little puzzle dungeons to figure out. The sprite work’s charming, though the random encounters can get old fast if you’re not into that. Definitely a niche pick, but if you ever wondered what Bomberman would look like as a 16-bit RPG, here’s your answer.
