Bomberman Max - Yami No Senshi is one of those weird little GBC spinoffs that actually holds up. It’s classic Bomberman—drop bombs, blow up walls, trap your friends—but with a darker theme and some funky power-ups. The "Max" version gives you two campaigns (Blue and Red), and honestly, the Red one feels a bit tougher right out the gate.
First thing you’ll notice? The sprites are tiny but surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy Color game. The stages get chaotic fast, especially when you start unlocking the crazier abilities like remote bombs or the weird little helper bots. If you’ve played other Bomberman games, this one’s got that same frantic energy, just with a moodier vibe.
It’s a solid pick if you’re into retro multiplayer mayhem or just want a Bomberman fix with a slightly different flavor.
