Man, Phantasy Star II Kinds' Adv. hits different if you grew up with a Genesis. The pixel art still holds up—those chunky, colorful sprites and weirdly charming enemy designs give it that classic SEGA vibe. You start off in this futuristic city, picking your party (I always go for the psychic chick first—her spells wreck early-game enemies).
The combat’s turn-based but faster than you’d expect, and the dungeons? Brutal. No hand-holding here. You’ll be scribbling maps on notebook paper like it’s 1990 again. Story’s surprisingly deep for its time too—robot rebellions, lost civilizations, all that good sci-fi RPG stuff.
It’s janky in places (good luck figuring out some quests without a guide), but that’s part of the charm. If you’re into retro RPGs, this one’s a time capsule worth cracking open.
