Mystic Quest Legend on SNES is one of those RPGs that somehow feels both simple and weirdly satisfying. You start off with this basic sword and shield, hacking away at slimes in the first dungeon—nothing fancy. But then the music kicks in (that battle theme slaps), and suddenly you're hooked.
The puzzles are just the right kind of frustrating—like when you're pushing blocks onto switches, and you realize too late you messed up the order. Combat's straightforward, but the weapon weaknesses actually matter—axes wreck skeletons, bombs melt golems. And yeah, the graphics are bright and chunky in that classic SNES way, with little details like how your character stumbles back when hit.
It’s not the deepest RPG out there, but there’s something cozy about how it doesn’t overcomplicate things. You’ll probably blast through it in a weekend if you’re not careful.
