Mickey Mania is this weird, charming little platformer where you jump through Mickey Mouse's entire cartoon history—starting with black-and-white Steamboat Willie and ending up in full-color '90s Disney. The levels actually change art styles as you go, which is a neat trick for a Genesis game.
You'll dodge barrels in the classic style, then suddenly the screen flips sideways for a Prince and the Pauper chase scene. Some parts feel janky (those rotating clock tower gears still mess me up), but there's something cool about how it mashes up old-school animation with 16-bit tech. The music's full of those bouncy Disney melodies too, just chip-tuned to hell.
It's not the tightest platformer ever, but as a piece of Mickey nostalgia, it's got way more personality than most licensed games.
