Mickey Mania on the Genesis is this weirdly charming little platformer where you jump through Mickey's cartoon history—like, literally. One minute you're dodging skeletons in Steamboat Willie black-and-white, the next you're getting chased by a giant Pete in full color. The animation's surprisingly smooth for a 16-bit game, especially when Mickey does that little hop-skip run.
Some levels nail the cartoon vibe better than others (the Mad Doctor stage is pure chaos in the best way), and yeah, it's got that classic "Disney hard" thing going where you'll die a lot. But the music slaps, especially the jazzy carnival theme. It's not the deepest platformer, but there's something satisfying about bouncing on ghosts with Mickey's weirdly floaty jump.
Honestly, half the fun is spotting all the references—like how the Prince and the Pauper level turns into a stealth section for no reason. Classic 90s Disney weirdness.
