Metal Masters Game

Metal Masters on Game Boy is one of those old-school fighters that somehow feels both clunky and satisfying at the same time. You pick from these beefy, pixelated warriors—some with swords, others with weird energy attacks—and just start hammering buttons until you figure out who actually works for you. (I stuck with the samurai guy because his slash move had ridiculous range.)
The AI doesn’t mess around, either. After a couple easy warm-up fights, you’ll suddenly get wrecked by some teleporting ninja who spams the same combo over and over. But that’s the charm—it’s got that classic arcade feel where losing just makes you mash "continue" harder. The music’s all crunchy synth beats, and the special moves actually take timing instead of just being cheap spammable tricks. It’s not Street Fighter, but it’s got its own weird appeal if you’re into retro brawlers.
Also, the announcer yells "METAL MASTERS!" when you boot it up, which never gets old.
