Little Ninja Brothers is one of those old-school NES RPGs that somehow mixes turn-based battles with weirdly fun action segments. You start off picking between two ninja brothers—I always went with the red one because he looked cooler—and then you're thrown into this world where you train, fight monsters, and even play these odd mini-games like foot races and archery.
The combat’s a mix of menu-based attacks and button-mashing action when you get into duels. At first, it feels a little clunky, but once you get the hang of dodging and timing your strikes, it’s surprisingly satisfying. And yeah, the controls take a second to adjust to if you're playing on keyboard (Z and X for attacks, arrows to move), but it’s worth sticking with.
It’s got that classic NES charm—simple but weirdly addictive, with just enough humor and weirdness to keep you going. Definitely one of those hidden gems if you’re into retro RPGs with a twist.
