Kung Fu on NES is one of those old-school brawlers where you just punch and kick your way through waves of enemies—no fancy combos, just pure button-mashing chaos. You start in this dojo with ninjas and karate guys charging at you from both sides, and honestly, the first time I played, I got wrecked immediately because I didn’t realize how fast they come at you.
The controls are simple—jump, punch, low kick—but timing matters way more than you’d think. Some enemies take a hit and go down, others need a few whacks, and then there’s that one dude who throws knives (rude). The music’s this repetitive but weirdly catchy loop that’ll stick in your head for days.
It’s short, brutal, and kinda janky by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about clearing a floor without getting hit. If you dig this, Jackie Chan’s Action Kung Fu is a smoother (and way goofier) take on the same idea. Or just go full arcade with Metal Slug 3—because explosions fix everything.
