King's Knight is this weird little NES shooter from Squaresoft—yeah, that Squaresoft, before they went all-in on RPGs. It’s a top-down vertical scroller where you pick one of four characters (knight, wizard, dragoon, or thief), each with their own wonky attack patterns. The knight’s sword slash feels weirdly delayed, but the wizard’s homing shots are kinda busted if you get the timing right.
It’s got that classic arcade vibe where everything moves just a little too fast, and the hitboxes are… questionable. Still, there’s something charming about how janky it is—like watching a B-movie where the special effects barely work. Also, the music slaps harder than it has any right to. If you dig obscure NES oddities, this one’s a fun curiosity.
