Juuouki is basically Altered Beast for the NES—same weird, muscle-bound guy transforming into beasts, same stiff controls, same "RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE" energy. But in that crunchy 8-bit way where everything looks a little rougher and moves a little slower. You still punch zombies, collect floating orbs, and turn into a werewolf (or bear, or dragon) by the end of the level. Honestly, it’s kind of janky compared to the Genesis version, but there’s something charming about how hard it tries with those chunky sprites and tinny music. If you’ve played the original, you’ll recognize the vibe immediately—just don’t expect it to feel as smooth.
